NAHS Pumpkin Painting for Oak Creek Meadowmere Residents
National Art Honor Society members got together and painted pumpkins in order to create decorations for Meadowmere Senior Living Facility. The students enjoyed the process of painting while listening to the Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack and while the eating the fall themed snacks. The best part was that they were able to impact the community in a positive way with their artwork!

Students in Foundations Two are building their "Open and Reveal" ceramic vessels. Each project is carefully designed to communicate a student's point of view on a theme or issue while learning how to make structurally sound work. When the viewer opens up the project it will reveal information on the inside of the vessel. Students try to incorporate the element of surprise into their artwork.
Tiffany's marching helmet opens to reveal a marching knight.
Carlee's project is about pursuing dreams. When the lid of the bed shaped project is lifted it reveals a quote saying "If you can dream it you can do it."
Sara's oven sculpture will open to reveal muffin tins, baking sheets, pots, pans and recipes since she is passionate about cooking.

Students in Drawing class are currently focusing on observation based drawing skills. They are learning to visual measure proportions and check negative space shapes while working on a charcoal still life drawing.
In preparation for our figure drawing unit, students began by learning a little bit about human anatomy while carefully depicting our favorite class skeleton, Skully.
Oak Creek's National Art Honor Society Shows Their Spirit
During Homecoming week at OCHS passionate art students participated in a school sponsored chalk art competition. Together as a club, students created a sidewalk mural based on the work of Van Gogh. Our school's mascot, Knightro, is featured holding a large paint brush and a palette. This year we tied with the Best Buddies team for first place.
National Art Honor Society also participated in the school's Homecoming Parade fully equipped with neon picture frames and over-sized art materials as props.
